NB:  Always tell the airline or ferry company at the time of booking that you wish to carry firearms and/or ammunition!

Travel by sea (Isle of Man Steam Packet Co vessels)
If you are travelling to the Island by sea please read this section carefully.  With the help of the guide document we have provided below, completion of the forms is straightforward.

Certain forms have to be completed in relation to maritime security laws for travel with firearms (including airguns) and/or ammunition on Steam Packet vessels.  We want to make it as easy as possible for you to take part in the Festival, so all the documentation you need can be downloaded on this page, together with a handy guide to its completion.  Completed forms should be sent to the Company in advance, to arrive not later than 48 hours prior to travel.

A word of advice:  keep a copy of the forms you have submitted and have them with you when you get to the ferry terminal - just in case!!

(Where the term "
Regulated Weapons" is used, it refers to airguns, shotguns and crossbows, all of which are regulated by law in the Isle of Man.)

General guide to the forms to be completed -
please read this first.

Declaration for the carriage of firearms and/or regulated weapons.

IMO Dangerous Goods form:
This needs to be completed if carrying ammunition on the Company's vessels.  Please note that ammunition can only be carried on the conventional ferry service from Heysham to the Isle of Man.  Ammunition is not permitted on fastcraft.  (See the guide for completion.)

Travel Notification Form
In the past there have been occasions when items of paperwork have gone missing or been left at home by visiting competitors, which has caused a problem with regard to satisfying Police requirements on arrival in the Island.  In order that we can be as prepared as possible to step in and assist should anything like this occur, please also complete the simple Travel Notification form, downloadable here, and return to the Organisers by email or post, ideally with your entry form but, if not, as soon as you have made your travel arrangements.  This also alerts us to when you are arriving so we are ready to accept your guns into the Festival armouries.
